CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S CLUB
REPORT ON SKILLS ACQUISITION PROGRAMME HELD ON JUNE 7TH, 2018
THEME: “EMBRACING RARE OPPORTUNITIES
The above mentioned programmed was held in Selwyn Hughes Hall at the office in Bariga on Thursday, 7th June, 2018.
Attendance was very impressive. The programme started with registration at 12.00noon. Mrs. Yemisi Soetan took the opening prayer, and this was followed by Praise/worship by the office choir.
Everyone was welcomed by the Administrator Mrs. Lucy Nworah who gave the welcome address.
Lady Vero Eche gave a brief talk on what Christian Women’s Club is all about.
At about 12.55pm our special Guest Speaker Mrs. Dupe Allo was invited to talk on the theme of the programme “Embracing Rare Opportunities”. This was very well delivered and a lot of questions and answers were taken.
The business of the day, which was the training on Bag Making by Miss Amaka Valerie and her team took up most of the day. The enthusiasm and zeal displayed by the participants was really encouraging.
About 7 bags were produced but not completely finished, as there was no time to get it all perfected. The unfinished bags have been given to the trainer to take away, finish up and return to the office before the next Co-ordinators/Guides meeting in September.
Mrs. Justina Soyemi then gave a brief talk on what SBS is about.
The participants were entertained by the Youth drama group and snacks were served.
Lady Eche gave the vote of thanks while Mrs. Lucy Nworah thanked the special guest speaker and a gift was presented to her.
Closing prayer was taken by Mrs. Sanusi. The outreach came to a close to about 4.00pm with all singing the SBS anthem.
Attendance was about 70 participants. Some of which already belong to various SBS groups, and lives were rededicated.
